Information for Presenters

This page explains information for presenters of LANMAN2017. Please read carefully and prepare your presentation.

Note: Date and Time is based on JST.

For Oral Presenters (Regular and Invited Papers)

We kindly ask you to follow the instructions below and to keep your presentation time since the session schedule is very tight. Regarding your presentation date and time, please refer to the program page.

  • Each oral presentation has been allocated 23 minutes (effective presentation time: 15 minutes, Q/A time: 7 minutes, and turnaround time between speakers: 1 minute).
  • We will prepare the computer presentation method only. The other method, such as OHP, is not prepared.
  • You can use either your own personal computer or a computer (PowerPoint is installed on Windows OS) prepared in the presentation room for your presentations.
  • For display from your computer, we will supply VGA cable ONLY. HDMI is NOT accepted. If your computer or other device does not provide VGA output, you will need to bring any necessary adapters.
  • You can use AC power supply (100V, plug & socket type A) only during your presentation.

For Poster Presenters

We have 2 poster sessions (Poster #1 and Poster #2), each of which consists of a lightning talk part and a poster part.

This section explains instructions for the poster part, and the section of For Lightning Talk explains the lightning talk part. Regarding the schedule of your poster presentations, please check the program (Poster #1 and Poster #2) .

Set up

  • Date:
    • Poster #1:15:30 – 18:00, June 12.
    • Poster #2: 9:30 – 11:00, June 13
  • Room: 301 (3F)

Lightning Talk

  • Date:
    • Poster #1:17:10 – 17:42, June 12.
    • Poster #2:10:10 – 10:38, June 13.
  • Room: 703 (7F)
  • Each presenter has been allocated 2 minutes (hard limit) for their presentation.
    • Since there is no turnaround time between speakers, we are going to prepare a single presentation file that contains slides of all the presenters.
    • We therefore kindly ask all presenters to prepare a slide for their lightning talks by June 2. Please refer to the section of For Lightning Talk.

Session

  • Date:
    • Poster #1:18:00 – 20:00, June 12.
    • Poster #2:11:00 – 13:00, June 13.
  • Room: 301 (3F)
  • A simple reception will be held in conjunction with the Poster #1 session.

Facilities

  • Each presenter can use 1 board and easel (stand). (An image of the board and the easel is shown below this page.)
  • Poster board:
    • Size: A0 (841 x 1189 mm/33.11x 46.81 inches)
    • Style: Portrait style (i.e., higher than it is wide).
  • Cellulose tape (Sellotape or Scotch tape) and double-sided tape will be prepared.
  • Presenters should create their posters so that they fit in the board. For example, it can consist of one A0 paper or multiple (up to 16) A4 papers so that all of them are fitted in the A0 area.
  • Presenters should prepare the printed poster. (No printer is available in the venue.)

For Demo Presenters

The demo session consists of a lightning talk part and a demo presentation part.

This section explains instructions for the demo presentations, and the section of For Lightning Talk explains the lightning talk presentations. Regarding the schedule of your presentations, Please refer to the program for the demo list.

Set up

Presenters can prepare their demos in the following time slot and the room.

  • Date: 15:30 – 18:00, June 12.
  • Room: 301 (3F)

Lightning Talk

  • Date: 17:10 – 17:42, June 12.
  • Room: 703 (7F)
  • Each presenter has been allocated 2 minutes (hard limit) for their presentation.
    Each presenter should prepare a slide for the lightning talk by June 2. Please refer to the section of For Lightning Talk.

Session

  • Date: 18:00 – 20:00, June 12.
  • Room: 301 (3F)
  • A simple reception will be prepared.

Facilities

We will offer the following facilities:

  • One table, of which size is approximately 160cm width x 60cm depth, is prepared for each demo presentation.
  • One presentation board is also prepared. The board consists of one easel (stand) and one panel (A0 size, 841×1189 mm/33.11×46.81 inches, Portrait style. An image of the board, including the panel and easel, is shown below the page.) Cellulose tape (Sellotape or Scotch tape) and double-sided tape will be supplied. The board is the same as one for poster presenters. Please refer to the facilities for poster presenters.
  • ADDED:One 24inch wide-type display. (iiyama ProLite e2483-hs, VGA and HDMI are available.)
  • 100V, maximum 5A power supply ( Plug & socket type A )
  • Wi-Fi (5GHz/2.4GHz) (Presenters cannot access the Internet via wired connection. The bandwidth is shared with all the connections in this room.)

For Lightning Talk (Demo and Poster)

Each of Poster #1, Demo, and Poster #2 sessions has a Lightning Talk session. In the Lightning Talk session, presenters of posters and demos can introduce overview of their posters and demos through presentation.

Each presenter has been allocated 2 minutes (hard limit). Since there is no turnaround time between speakers, we are going to prepare a single presentation file that contains slides of all the presenters. We therefore kindly ask all presenters to prepare a slide for their lightning talks according to the following instructions:

  • Only PDF file is accepted.
  • Please make your slide (1 or 2 pages) by June 2, 2017 23:59 JST.
  • Please send your presentation file to the Local Coordination chair (Hiroyuki SHINBO) by e-mail.
    • To: net3-lanman2017-info /at/ net.ist.osaka-u.ac.jp
    • Subject: LANMAN2017 Lightning-talk slide
    • Please include the needed information in the mail body: Poster/demo title, all authors information, EDAS paper number (if possible).
  • If a file size is larger than 2 Mbytes, please upload the file to a file exchange system (for example, google drive and dropbox) and mail a URL and needed information.
  • If the slide is not received, title and authors of your poster or demo is displayed during your lightning talk.
  • Presenters can NOT use their own personal computer for the lightning talks due to time limitations.

Reference

Easel (stand) and Board

This is an image of the easel and the board that will be provided for each of poster and demo presentations. Presenters can only use it in a portrait style (i.e., higher than it is wide, as shown in this image) due to the limitation of room space.
